Tambuwal: Fintiri Courageous, Capable of Taking Adamawa To Greater Heights

...Commissions Intra-City Road

The incumbent Governor of Adamawa state, Hon. Ahmadu Adamu Fintiri has been described as a leader with the ability and sagacity to take his state, with its tribal, religious and cultural complexity to a greater height.

Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal made this observation on Thursday when he commissioned the 5.5 kilometers Bachure-Falu road that links Yola-North with other parts of the metropolis in the state capital.

The road, with 5 centimeters ashphalt overlay and drainages, was on the spot named by Gov. Fintiri after the erstwhile Military Administrator of the state, late Air Commodore David Jonah Jang, just as another road already commisioned within the metropolis was named after late Alhaji Gambo Jimeta, former Inspector General of Police.

According to Tambuwal, taking into cognizance that "Adamawa state is complex in terms of tribes and the competing number of tribes and the competing presence of Islam and Christianity; as well as other cultural considerations, the state needs someone like the incumbent Governor, who is versatile."

He said, "I am confident that by the time he is done, every part of the state would feel his presence."

Recalling his past feats as the Acting Governor of the state when he cleared backlog of salary owed civil servants of the state and still have more funds left to execute capital projects, Gov. Tambuwal prayed for his good health to enable him serve the state and humanity better in the future.

Gov. Tambuwal also applauded his counterpart for naming the roads he constructed after one of his predecessors and a prominent indigene of the state.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Gov. Fintiri said the road commissioned by Gov. Tambuwal materialized as part of the fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people of the high density area of the state capital, who, hitherto, suffered years of neglect of the road.

Noting that "for me promises are sacred," he further stressed that his administration's "investing in urban renewal is deliberate."

Enumerating some of his achievements after two years in office, Gov. Fintiri said the security architecture of the state has been overhauled, economic stimulus provided to citizens to cushion the vagaries of economic challenges posed by COVID-19 and other issues while giving premium to educational development.
