The PDP Governors’ Forum held a meeting under the leadership of H.E Governor Bala Mohammed, CON, at the Oyo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday, 31st October, 2023. i. The meeting noted the recent judgement of the Supreme Court on the 2023 Presidential Election and believes that this brings an end to the Presidential election cycle as there must be an end to litigation. As a Forum, we believe and re-state our faith and confidence in the judiciary to do justice in political and other cases before the Courts. We are concerned that while the Supreme Court has laid down precedents on pre-election issues, PDP candidates in Plateau State are being disqualified on the same grounds. The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated a 21-member special projects committee with wide wide-ranging mandate to chart a roadmap for the transformation of the state.  The committee will be chaired by Senator Haruna Manu, the immediate past Deputy Governor and current Senator for Taraba Central. Other members include Pius Sabo, Ahidjo Musa, Istifanus Haruna Gbana, Ambassador Idris Wazir, Yusuf Akirikwen SAN, Senator Shu’aibu Isa Lau, Benard Shonzen Kassa, Dominic Bukuni, Charles Maijankai, and Ibrahim Hussaini Mafindi as members. Governor Dauda Lawal, on Monday, presided over the Zamfara State Executive Council meeting. At the council meeting, Governor Dauda Lawal received a briefing from the committee constituted to ascertain the position of Zamfara State and Local Government Pension contributions. A statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that the meeting held at the council chamber, Government House, Gusau, deliberated on a series of developmental issues beneficial to Zamfara State.  He added that the council received a progress report of the ongoing urban renewal in the State Capital and a briefing on the proposed upgrading and modernisation of the Sardauna Memorial Stadium Gusau, among others.  Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved the dissolution of statutory commissions with immediate  effect. In a circular by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye, the dissolution takes immediate effect. The affected commissions according to the SSG are the State Civil Service Commission, the Judicial Service Commission, Osun State Independent Electoral  Commission and Osun State House of Assembly Service Commission. The Secretary to the State Government conveyed the appreciation of Mr. Governor to members of dissolved commissions for the selfless and meritorious service to the state. His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today officially launched a strategic mobilisation support group, "Yes Diri." The Governor who opened the office space along Azikoro road, Ekeki, appreciated members of the support group led by Dr. Gentle Emelah, for their commitment to his re-election.
