Governor Agbu Kefas inaugurates a special projects committee.

The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated a 21-member special projects committee with wide wide-ranging mandate to chart a roadmap for the transformation of the state. 

The committee will be chaired by Senator Haruna Manu, the immediate past Deputy Governor and current Senator for Taraba Central. Other members include Pius Sabo, Ahidjo Musa, Istifanus Haruna Gbana, Ambassador Idris Wazir, Yusuf Akirikwen SAN, Senator Shu’aibu Isa Lau, Benard Shonzen Kassa, Dominic Bukuni, Charles Maijankai, and Ibrahim Hussaini Mafindi as members.




Others are Dr. Abubakar Jugulde, Kabiru Kabiru Jalo, Titus Joseph Nagombe, Senator Dahiru Bako Gassol, Dr. Tafarki Agbadu, John Kizito Bonzena, kuriya Tafarki Auta, Esther Yenda while Siman Musa Istifanus Esq is to serve as Secretary.

The Governor said the Special Projects Committee in the State is to help in providing good governance to touch the lives of the people at the grassroots.

Dr. Kefas said members were carefully selected based on merit and their track records urging them to justify the confidence and trust reposed in them.

The Governor said details of the terms of reference of the assignment of the Committee will be communicated to the members in due course and expressed happiness for accepting the appointment and taking their time to come for the inauguration.

Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Manu, thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to carry out this important assignment and assured of doing the needful as instructed by the terms of reference of the Committee.

Senator Manu urged Taraba people to conduct themselves peacefully and respectfully during the forthcoming Local Government election slated for November 18th, 2023.

He said Taraba has been known to be a PDP state since 1999 reminding members of the party that only one person will emerge as the chairman in each of the councils.

He advised all aspirants to cooperate for the chairmanship candidate to be arrived at by consensus and whoever emerges other aspirants should support the success of the party.

Senator Manu described Governor Kefas as a person with a large heart and expressed optimism that as a former PDP Chairman in the State, he will accommodate all the aspirants in his government.

He appreciated the Governor for carefully selecting members of the committee saying that as the Chairman he will take guidance from elders like Idris Waziri and indeed from all members of the committee.
