Gov Agbu Kefas Assents to Bill Seeking for Establishment of a Rotational First Class Chief of Takum and Appointment of Three Third Class Chiefs

The Governor of Taraba state Dr Agbu Kefas has assented to the bill seeking for the establishment of a rotational first class chief of Takum in Taraba State and appointment of three third class chiefs in the area.

The Governor gave the assent this Friday in Takum in the presence of some members of the Taraba state House of Assembly.

Assenting to the bill seeking for the establishment of a rotational first class chief of Takum and three third class chiefs in Takum, the Governor of Taraba state Dr Agbu Kefas, said it is in the interest of peace and  development of the state.

He commended the members of the state House of Assembly for critically doing justice to the Bill.

The Deputy Speaker of Taraba state House of Assembly, Hon Abdullahi Hamman Adama Borkono said the bill has gone through all the legislative processes.

He said based on the bill, the First class stool of Takum which has been vacant for decades will be rotated among the Kuteb, Chamba, and Jukun and also three third class chiefs will be appointed for the three tribes.

He said the bill will contribute significantly to the development of Taraba state.
