Bauchi Governor Promises Economic Empowerment to Advance Living Condition of People

...As he distributes empowerment items in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Governments

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Monday says his administration is irrevocably committed towards uplifting the living conditions of the people of the state through various economic empowerment programmes.

The governor made this known at the distribution of empowerment items for beneficiaries in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas of the state.

The governor who appealed to the beneficiaries of the various economic packages to make good use of the items, called for their continued support, understanding and cooperation for the success of the initiative.

He said the economic items are part of the package the state government earmarked for its empowerment programme.

Governor Bala Mohammed said his administration is desirous of pulling the majority of the people of the state out of poverty by working assiduously in order to achieve the desired objectives.


"I am very impressed by the massive turnout of the people to witness this momentous occasion. It is a testimony of the positive impact the programme has so far made on the people of the state."

"The Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme was conceived and is being implemented for just this purpose."

The governor said the programme is a deliberate effort at holistically addressing the problem of unemployment and poverty in the state especially among the youth and women.


Governor Bala Mohammed therefore said as responsible government, his administration is not unmindful of the economic hardship being experienced by the majority of the people of the state as it has taken all the necessary steps to address the hardship with all the seriousness it deserves.


In her remark, the state first lady Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed who seek for continued support to the present administration in the state, urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to make good use of items for self reliant.

On her part, the State Commissioner for Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Hajiya Sa'adatu Bello Kirfi applauded Governor Bala Mohammed for initiating a number of empowerment programmes which is yielding positive results in the area of poverty reduction.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.
