PDP United, Prepared To Take Over Anambra, Nigeria

(Being text of the briefing of journalists after the People’s Democratic Party-Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) meeting held at the Akwa Ibom State Governors Lodge in Abuja by the Chairman of the Forum, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Sept. 8, 2021)



Thank you for your patience. I am sure you have seen that we have been meeting since 3 pm., for about 7 hours. We had very fruitful deliberations. 


You must have seen in the team leaders of our party in various other states where we don’t have governors. We had very robust engagement with them where we discussed how to move the party forward, the unity of the party, to bring all leaders together; not only working towards the convention, but also beyond that so that we can sustain the goodwill that PDP is enjoying in Nigeria and to send the right signal to Nigerians that we are truly prepared as a family.


We will ensure that, by the grace of God, come 2023, we will present a very united force that will rescue Nigeria from the mis-governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC). 


We also had in our meeting our (gubernatorial) candidate for the Anambra election, [Mr Valentine Ozigbo]. We received briefing from him on j

how prepared our party is in Anambra. We confirm to you and Nigerians that all of us are united in supporting our party in Anambra; and, by the grace of God, all of us shall work together justly towards winning Anambra election.


We also discussed the forthcoming convention. You will hear from the National Executive Council (NEC) tomorrow what the position is going to be by the grace of God.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families. Announcing the donation at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House, Little Rayfield, the First Lady said that government is concerned about their plight.  Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her deep concern for the victims, stating that the news of the deteriorating security situation in Mangu Local Government Area on May 15, 2023, had deeply saddened her.  She acknowledged the devastation and despair faced by the affected communities, with destroyed homes and disrupted sources of livelihood.
