Police Conflict: Gov Fintiri Meets Security Chiefs, Sues For Peace

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has summoned an emergency security meeting over Tuesday’s night clash between the Military and Police officers in the state. 

The conflict between the security personnel has begun along Target Junction, Yola North Local Government Area, that resulted in exchange of fire and brutal attack on the Police facility. 

Addressing newsmen after the meeting in Government House, Yola Wednesday, Governor Fintiri said an investigation into the matter was ongoing with a view to ensuring peace and justice. 

He said the meeting has resolved the conflict and that the security chiefs have vowed to work in synergy for the best interest of Adamawa and Nigeria.

Governor Fintiri confirmed that both the military and Police lost one officer each during the night clash, calling for restraint to avoid recurring incidents. 

The meeting had in attendance Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Brigade Commander 23 Armoured Brigade Yola and the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police and other senior government officials.
