Obaseki pays 13-month salaries, pensions

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has paid the 13-month salaries and pensions for government workers and pensioners in the State.

In a statement, Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, said workers and pensioners received their 13th month salaries and pensions in the early hours of Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in line with the pledge of the Governor.

The Commissioner noted, “The Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has paid the 13th month salaries and pensions of workers and pensioners in the State.”

According to him, “Governor Godwin Obaseki has honoured the pledge to pay 13th month salary on Workers Day. The Governor’s gesture further demonstrates his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners."

He added, “The payment of the 13-month salaries and pensions will help in ameliorating the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.”
