  •Donates ₦200 Million to Windstorm Victims Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has visited Dass Local Government Area Sunday where he commiserated with victims of the recent windstorm that caused significant damage to homes and properties. Speaking during the visit, Governor Mohammed announced a ₦200 million relief package for affected households, saying ₦100 million will be disbursed directly to the victims, while another ₦100 million will go towards the purchase and distribution of building materials to aid reconstruction efforts. Mohammed, however, directed the establishment of shelter belts in the affected areas to serve as long-term protection against future windstorms.  The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, was among the dignitaries who attended the Nigerian Army Day Celebration interdenominational church service in Jalingo, the state capital. The Service was held at the Salvation Baptist Church Magami, in Jalingo. Speaking at the service, Dr. Agbu Kefas described the Army as an institution with a long and proud history of service and sacrifice.  He emphasised that commemorating the day is not only to honour officers who are alive but to pay tribute to the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price to defend the nation. Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday, led a campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking as part of activities commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Governor Diri advised  people of the state, particularly the youths, to shun hard drugs and trafficking of illicit substances, saying they were harmful to their health and to the society.  The Bayelsa governor, who spoke shortly after the weekly Prosperity Walk exercise at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, also urged youths to develop themselves by acquiring a skill and work towards actualising their God-given potential. The inauguration of the two groups took place on Tuesday 24th of June 2025 at the Banquet Hall, TY Danjuma House, Jalingo. In his address at the inauguration, Dr Agbu Kefas said the commission of inquiry into the Karim Lamido crisis was constituted to  facilitate the restoration of peace and stability, investigate the remote cause of the crisis, identify and bring to Justice those who sponsored and instigated the crisis, promote reconciliation and ensure justice.  In his desire to expand the Government House in Jalingo, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated a committee tasked with acquiring properties surrounding the premises.  The committee was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, 25th of June 2025, in the Exco Chamber of TY Danjuma House, Jalingo. During the event, the Governor also received a report from the state delegation that recently travelled to Kenya for a study tour focused on tea and coffee production. The purpose of establishing this committee is to facilitate the smooth expansion of the Government House, thereby improving administrative efficiency and enhancing security in the area.  In his speech, Dr. Agbu Kefas emphasised the importance of keeping the Government House, as the seat of power, free from congestion and encroachment, as such factors could undermine security.
