Gov. Diri attends funeral service of Fubara's mother in-law in Opobo

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri Saturday, joined his Rivers State counterpart, Governor Siminalayi Fubara to bid farewell to his mother in-law, late Mrs. Adeline Ndalu Jaja at the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion in Opobo town, Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Late Mrs. Adeline Ndalu Jaja who died at the age of 87 years is mother to Valeria Sim Fubara, wife of the Rivers State Governor.

Governor Diri in his condolence message said he wished Mama had died hereafter noting that the death of a loved one, no matter the age comes with sorrow.

"The death of a loved one, no matter how old comes with sorrow. And so, we all pray to be as old as our mother who is lying in state here today. But we would have wished that she would have died hereafter, but, we can only wish but God decides when any of us will go.

And so, whatever power we have is temporary but the ultimate is that we will answer the call of God. And today, our mother, our grandmother has answered the call of God.

Therefore, on behalf of your sister State, Bayelsa, we extend our deepest condolences to the Governor, his wife, the family and the good people of Opobo-Nkoro, and indeed, the people of Rivers State for this love," Governor Diri said.
