Gov. Diri celebrates OBJ @87, graces public lecture in Abeokuta

 Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, today in Abeokuta, Ogun State joined other distinguished global leaders, Nigerians and families to celebrate the 87th birthday of former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR.

Governor Diri, who graced a public lecture on leadership and the challenge of inclusive governance in Africa at the presidential library complex, Abeokuta, described Pa Obasanjo as an inspiration to the younger generation of leaders.

Prominent speakers on the occasion included the Prime Minister of Barbados, H.E Mia Amor Mottley, and a former President of Slovenia, H.E Danilo Turk, who is the current president of Club de Madrid, an exclusive club of over 100 former democratically-elected presidents in the world.

Other speakers were former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR  and his former Ghanaian counterpart, Dr. John Mahama.

After the lecture, the Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute was inaugurated by Dr. Mahama.

The African and global icon, Chief Obasanjo, has carved a niche for his patriotism, nationalism and detribalised position on political and leadership issues in Nigeria and Africa.

Governor Diri on behalf of our government and people of the state, wishes Baba Obasanjo more years of selfless service to humanity in good health.
