Be Good Ambassadors in Rivers State - Gov. Fubara Challenges Corps Members

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has called on Corps Members posted to the State to be good ambassadors of the NYSC scheme in the State as his administration remains resolute in building the State.

He made the call at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai when he addressed 2024 Batch A Stream II Corps Members deployed to the State for their 3 - week orientation course.

Represented at the event by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Sir Samson Friday Dede, Governor Fubara emphasized that his commitment to offer the good people of Rivers State the best democracy dividends remains sacrosanct.

He called on the NYSC and Corps Members to continue to be "reliable and dependable partners in improving the lot of the citizens of the State."

He vowed to continue to do everything that is possible to "uplift the youths, especially Corps Members as the bedrock of the society" and charged them to be disciplined and exemplary in all they do throughout the orientation exercise and the Service Year at large.

In his address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang, commended the Corps Members for their "zeal and enthusiasm in imbibing the core values of the NYSC Scheme as well as actively participate in camp programmes and activities."

Mr. Mfongang advised the Corps Members to take the "9 - days in - camp skill acquisition training very seriously as well as the security lectures in order to develop safety consciousness."

The oath of allegiance was administered by the Chief Judge of Rivers State represented by Justice Lemea Ngbor.

A total of 1,906 Corps Members was sworn in at the occasion.
