Gov AGBU Kefas Flags Off Two Million Assorted Economic Tree-Planting Campaigns

 The Governor of Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas has reiterated the commitment of his administration to address pressing economic challenges, promote sustainable land use practices, and mitigate the impact of climate change.

The Governor stated this on Saturday at the Federal University Wukari while flagging off two million assorted economic tretree-plantingmpaigns.

Performing the groundbreaking ceremony, the Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Abdullahi Aminu Alkali recognized the critical importance of trees to humanity and the environment and said the event is a significant milestone in the commitment to environmental sustainability, conservation, and economic development.

Dr Agbu Kefas noted that the planting of the two Million assorted economic trees represents collective determination in addressing economic challenges, promotes sustainable land use practices and reduces the impact of climate change.

He explained that the greenish Taraba project is a testament to his administration's commitment to safeguarding the natural heritage and ensuring healthier economic resilience.

On her part, the Commissioner Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Taraba State, Hon. Aishat Abdul-azeez Barde reiterated the readiness of the ministry in afforestation of the state to reduce the impacts of climate change.

she added that the ministry is going to embark on vigorous tree-planting campaigns across the local government areas.
