Regular Fuel Supply Resumes in Akwa Ibom

Following a successful meeting by His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, Governor, Akwa Ibom State, with a cross section of stakeholders in the petroleum marketing sector earlier this morning, normalcy has returned and the fuel stations have resumed selling petroleum products to the public. 

The Stakeholders including the leaders of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria,(IPMAN), Nigeria Union of Petroleum and National Gas Workers (NUPENG), Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owner Association of Nigeria( PETROAN), all assured  the Governor that they have called  off the strike, while asking government to reign in the activities of a certain group whose actions had caused the initial fuel scarcity.

Governor Eno thanked the stakeholders which included Francis Udosen, Prince Ekom Idemudo and Sir Victor Etefia , representing IPMAN, Hon. Udeme Esset and Elder Matthew Akpa for PETROAN and Comrade Godwin Okono and Comrade Joseph Otu- PTN.

He assured them that the security agencies will ensure that, such an illegal action does not occur again.

Present at the meeting were Mr. Uko Udom, SAN, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Uno Etim Uno, Commissioner for Environment, General Koko Essien, Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, and security commanders in the State.
