By Admin The governor of Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has emerged the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum replacing governor, Seriake Dickson whose tenure will expire by February 3, 2020. It was a unanimous decision as all the governors in attendance at the party’s 88th National Executive Council (NEC) held today Monday January 27, 2020 at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, resolved and appointed him as their chairman.

Zamfara govt approves massive fund for science schools

By Admin Zamfara Government has earmarked N7 billion for total renovation of its science schools and training of science teachers in 2020. The State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Alhaji Bilyaminu Shinkafi told newsmen on Thursday in Gusau that the fund would be used for total renovation and expansion of science and technical schools across the state. The Commissioner who spoke after defending his ministry’s budget at the state House of Assembly, said the government was determined to transform science and technology in the state. “In the 2020 budget, we propose to carry out various programmes to enhance science and technology development in the state. “We are going to give priority to training and retraining of our staff, especially teachers in science and technical secondary schools,’’ he said. Sokoto commences minimum wage implementation this month –Tambuwal

By Admin Implementation of the minimum wage will commence this month in Sokoto State, Governor Aminu Tambuwal has disclosed. Tambuwal revealed this at the presentation of the report by the committee on the implementation of the new minimum wage and consequential adjustments. He put the new Wage Bill of the state at above N324 million as against the sum of N340 million requested for by labour union in the state. A meeting of the state executive council had been scheduled for Monday to consider the report, he said. Tambuwal recalled that the state government had discovered a disparity in the salary data of the state civil service commission, the Ministry of Finance and the office of the Head of Service, thus took measures to harmonise all the data. He said the State Government had to conduct a wide scale verification exercise to weed out ghost workers, child workers and bogus employment offer syndicates. Bauchi discovers skill acquisition materials abandoned 38 years ago

By Pat PA Okon Bauchi State  Governor  Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed  has discovered skills acquisition materials abandoned since the administration of the first civilian governor of the state Alhaji AbubakarTatari Ali, 38 years ago. Late Tatari ruled the state between 1979  and 1983 after which nine military and three civilian governors ruled the state before the coming of the present administration. The Commissioner, Ministry  of Poverty Alleviation Alhaji Usman  Mohammed Saleh disclosed  this while speaking with newsmen yesterday in Bauchi. Usman said the equipment, if put into use, would create job opportunities to hundreds of unemployed youths. Enugu community honours Ugwuanyi for restoring peace in their land
