Makinde, Ibori to reconcile Lagos PDP, meet Bode George, others

Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde; former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori and other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday in Lagos met with a group being led by a former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Olabode George, behind closed door in a move to reconcile warring factions in the state chapter of the party. ORTOM CHARGES LIVESTOCK GUARDS TO IMPOUND ANY LIVESTOCK GRAZING OPENLY

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has charged the state Livestock Guards to ensure that no herd of cattle seen openly grazing in any part of the state goes without being impounded. Delta state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has charged parents, guardians and teachers not to relent in teaching their children moral values and principles that would shape their future and produce a better society. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has warned former office holders in the state still in possession of the state’s property to return them or risk being reported to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) for prosecution. The Rivers State Government has expressed its readiness to manage COVID-19 if it is recorded in the oil capital of the country. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently mounting pressure on the Supreme Court to restrain itself from reversing the flawed judgment on the Imo State Governorship election despite obvious mistakes in that judgement, which is now threatening the stability of our nation. In keeping with its promise of ensuring that the welfare of workers in the State is given priority, the Akwa Ibom State Government has commenced the payment of the thirty thousand Naira (30,000.00) minimum wage to its workforce. A statement by the Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien states that the new minimum wage came into effect with the February, 2020 salary with January arrears also paid. Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen has given an express directive to all school principals and feeding officers in the state to henceforth eat the food they serve students or face dismissal. Governor Mawalle, who supervised the compulsory eating by Principal and staff of Government Science Secondary School and Government Girls’ Secondary School Gusau, was dismayed after meeting the students eating substandard food contrary to the agreement with the principals and feeding officers in the state. EBONYI PARTNERS NADDC IN SETTING UP ELECTRIC VEHICLE ASSEMBLING PLANT

- Slams N10m fine against SANs The Supreme Court on Wednesday described the request by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to review its judgment voiding the participation of its candidate in the Bayelsa governorship election as Vexatious, frivolous and an abuse of court process. The court held that the suit filed on behalf of the APC, its sacked governor-elect and deputy governor-elect, Mr David Lyon and Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo lacked merit and accordingly dismissed it. The apex court in the unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Amina Augie, came down heavily on the counsel to the applicants for filing the motions which amounts to desecration of the judiciary. "I feel like shedding tears that senior counsel in this case would ever bring this kind of frivolous applications during my life time", Justice Augie said in an emotion laden voice. Edo 2020: Tambuwal Receives Unity Torch, Reaffirms Commitment to Sports Development

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Tuesday received the torch of unity totem for the forthcoming National Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Edo state from April 20th. About 250 athletes are expected to attend the national festival. A delegation from the National Sport Commission led by its Zonal Coordinator Kaduna, Olushola Luke, presented the totem to the state  commissioner for youth and sports, Alhaji Aminu Bala Bodinga, who handed it to the governor at Government House, Sokoto. Following the recent fire outbreak at Nsulu Games Village in Isiala Ngwa North LGA and other areas of the state as recently recorded, Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed a total ban on bush burning in the state with immediate effect. This ban has become necessary to protect lives and property from avoidable fire disasters as well as preserve our natural habitat.
