Okowa Emerges South South Governors Forum Chairman.

The Governors of the South South geo-political zone, after elaborate consultations, have unanimously selected the Delta State Govenor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the Chairman of the Forum. He takes over from the outgoing Bayelsa of State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson who concludes his eight year tenure today!  A statement signed by  the Governor's Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabra, congratulates Okowa, and calls on the governors to extend the same cooperation the outgoing governor enjoyed, to Okowa! He noted that, it is when all hands are on deck, that the forum can frontally proffer solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the region!

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families. Announcing the donation at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House, Little Rayfield, the First Lady said that government is concerned about their plight.  Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her deep concern for the victims, stating that the news of the deteriorating security situation in Mangu Local Government Area on May 15, 2023, had deeply saddened her.  She acknowledged the devastation and despair faced by the affected communities, with destroyed homes and disrupted sources of livelihood.
