BNSG to Amend Revenue Law to Plug Leakages, Reduce Multiple Taxation

The Benue State Government is to forward an amendment of the Benue Revenue Law to the State House of Assembly to plug loopholes in the existing law that lead to leakages and to reduce multiple taxation.  This was part of the resolutions reached by the enlarged stakeholders after a long drawn meeting with Governor Samuel Ortom presiding.  In a communique the Governor read after the meeting Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, the  stakeholders acknowledged the depreciation in revenue generation accruing to the State and pledged to cooperate with the Board of Internal Revenue Service, BIRS to end the trend.  The communique reads in parts: "After exhaustive deliberations, the meeting resolved as follows:  "That the State Government through the Executive Council will without delay send an amendment to the State House of Assembly to plug the loopholes in the existing law that have left gaps for revenue leakages." Governor Fintiri Dissolves Management Board of Adamawa United FC

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the dissolution of the management of Adamawa United Football club Governor Fintiri who commended the management for working hard to nurture the club and take it where it is today, said Government will not allow the club go down but will ensure it consolidates on the gains so far. He noted that the need to  inject fresh blood and latest techniques as well as also reinvigorate and restore the loss glory of the game of soccer, informed government's decision. While thanking the management for accepting to serve in that capacity that enabled them to contribute to the growth of the game of soccer in Adamawa, the Governor notes that the dissolution is with immediate effect and the management is to hand over all government property and documents to the ministry immediately.

Again, Gov. Diri Tasks FG On Nembe-Brass Road

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has restated the significance of the road from Nembe to the Brass Island in Brass Local Government Areas of the state to the country's economy. Governor Diri restated this on Tuesday while declaring open the 10th Practical Nigerian Content Conference with the theme “Driving the Nigeria Content in the Dawn of Petroleum Industry Act.” The three-day conference is organised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) at its headquarters in Yenagoa.  The governor re-echoed his call to the Federal Government following President Muhammadu Buhari's Executive Order 7 of 2019 on the Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme to construct roads across the country. Insecurity: SOSG Proscribes Self-Styled Vigilante Groups

In order to drive the efforts to curb the proliferation of banditry and sundry crimes bedeviling the eastern flank and other parts of Sokoto state, the state government has banned soi disant vigilante groups from operating in the state.  Instead, citizens desirous of contributing their quota to the fight against criminals and criminalities have been advised to join legitimately constituted vigilante groups that would from now on operate under the supervision and direction of the state Police Command and other security outfits in the state. Already the state Police Command has commenced the training of legitimately constituted vigilante groups in the state preparatory to signing of the law. Gov. Sokoto Govt. to unveil world-class advanced medical diagnostics centre

A multi-billion Naira advanced medical diagnostic centre built by the Sokoto State Government has been completed and ready for commissioning. The Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, will commission the centre on Wednesday. He will be assisted by Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, other government dignitaries and officials of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA). Governor Okowa, who is a medical doctor, is visiting Sokoto to take part in a meeting of the NMA holding in the state.   The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Mohammad Ali Inname, who disclosed this in a press statement on Monday in Sokoto, said the facility is world-class and a milestone in the history of medical diagnosis in Nigeria. The facility, with state-of-the art medical equipment, has a Radiology Unit, Laboratory Unit, Out-patient Clinics, Dental Unit, and ENT Unit. It will offer a variety of services, including Medical Investigations, Radiological Investigations, and Laboratory Investigations.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday inspected the ongoing Phillip Maken, Karewa Maskare road. The Action Governor speaking shortly with journalists after the inspection said that he was provoked to visit the site and find out for himself upon receiving a report on the progress of work. He frowned at the way some people erect buildings thus blocking government roads, expressing his administration's willingness to take drastic action to ensure the provision of access roads to the people. Unfortunately, this is a sad reality that we must all pick the courage to live with.  𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒛𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒂 𝑲𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅𝒚 𝒁𝒊𝒓𝒌𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒖, died in active service to his fatherland.  He was killed in an ambush by 𝑩𝒐𝒌𝒐 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎/𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists along Chibok road, in Borno State.  Three other soldiers also died in the incident.
