Bauchi State Govt Upgrades Hisbah Command to Board

Bauchi State Government has expressed confidence that establishment of the State Hisbah Board will curb antisocial activities in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Ibrahim Kashim, while receiving the report of a committee earlier constituted to draft  guidelines for  establishing the board said government is committed to welcoming any idea aimed at addressing deviant  behaviors among youth and women.

Represented by the Special Adviser on General Services, Alhaji Hashimu Kumbala, the Secretary to the State Government said the state was impressed with activities of the Hisbah Command noting that providing them a legal backing will restrengthen their operations.

While commending the committee for the job well done, the SSG explained that the report will be carefully studied and presented to the State Assembly for further legislative action.

Submitting the report, the chairman of the committee and former Grand Khadi, Abdullahi Yakubu Marafa, said the committee has done a thorough job by engaging critical stakeholders in the course of its assignment.

Also speaking, the Permanent Commissioner in charge of Hisbah at the State Sharia Commission, Barr. Aminu Balarabe Isah, said  upgrading the Hisbah Command to a board will encourage them to deepen the fight against social vices.
