Bauchi Governor Visits Collapsed Bauchi-Ningi Highway Bridge

....Direct contactors to fix the bride within one week Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Saturday directed relevant stakeholders to provide engineering solution to the collapsed Bauchi-Ningi-Kano Highway Bridge by fixing the bridge within one week. The governor gave the directive when he led contractors and government officials on an inspection visit to the scene of the collapsed highway bridge. Governor Bala Mohammed said although, the collapsed highway bridge is a federal road, the state government will support contractors to fix the road on time because of its economic importance to the state and its neighbors. He pleaded with the federal government to consider refunding to the state government the funds it will expended for the repair of the collapsed bride. Delta govt approves N425bn "indicative budget" for 2022

Delta Government has approved an "indicative budget" of N425 billion for the 2022. The reconstituted State Executive Council approved the budget at its maiden meeting presided by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Asaba on Friday. Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Dr Barry Gbe, said that the council approved the proposal after due consideration of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF and FSP) in line with the Fiscal Responsibility Law 2020. Gbe stated that his ministry had proposed a budget of N388 billion for the period but that the figure was jerked up by the council to accommodate other matters not envisaged earlier. According to him, after deliberations, debates and a deeper look into what 2022 should look like, in its wisdom, the State Executive Council increased the N388 billion that was recommended to N425 billion. Governor of Rivers State,  Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the money his administration is spending on the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Centre in the State is not a misplaced priority. The governor made the assertion on Thursday when he visited the project site at Rumuokuta in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, to inspect the progress of work done already. Governor Wike said that no amount of money spent in putting in place facilities that will secure the health of all residents in the state will be considered a waste.
