President Buhari Endorses Matawalle's Efforts, Promises Better Security

President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the peace efforts of Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) and has promised for a better approach to security operations in the country. The President spoke through a special delegation  four Ministers under the leadership of the Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika who were in Gusau this morning to commiserate with the Government and people of Zamfara State over the abduction of Jangebe school girls. Senator Sirika said the President is happy with Governor Matawalle over his genuine efforts at finding peace and tranquility in the state. He said the recent incidence is disheartening and unfortunate. President Muhammadu Buhari however, noted that the Military leadership is rejigged to improve their output which is going to make a better impact on the security situation in the country. ...As Council Of Traditional Rulers Say Jangebe Incidence, An Irony Governor Bello Mohammed has vowed to continue with the peace process just as the Council of traditional rulers in the State described the Jangebe incidence in the state as an irony considering the tremendous successes of the peace accord. Jengede Abducted Female Students Yet To Be Rescued

Some online media outlets have claimed the release of the female students of Govt. Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe from unsubstantiated sources and the flimsy imagination of the Punch newspaper Zamfara state reporter who initiated the rumour. Gov. Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun and his aides have since Friday when the girls were abducted by gunmen not rested but been working round the clock making frantic efforts that will lead to the safe release of the victims and are not happy that someone who does not know the details of the situation will try to further hurt the victims' parents, government and the security by ridiculing the effort with falsehood. The state government will come immediately and happily inform the world as soon as the girls are released

Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal today Saturday commiserated with the government and people of Zamfara over the abduction early morning Friday of over 300 female students from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe. Gov. Tambuwal, who was accompanied by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, expressed shock and dismay over the incident. Describing the act as dastardly, pathetic and abuse of human dignity, the governor said the act is condemnable and should not be allowed to stand. Similarly, the Sultan of Sokoto who also expressed displeasure with the act, appealed to the perpetrators of the kidnap to fear God just as he prayed to God to guide them aright.

Obaseki advocates improved investment in renewable energy to tackle nation’s erratic power supply

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has called for more investment in renewable energy as an alternative power solution to mitigate the inadequate power situation in the country. Obaseki stated this during an interactive session with the Minister of State for Power, Mr. Goddy Agba, and members of Edo Solar Engineers and Installers in Benin City, the state capital. The governor noted: “I think it is time for us to take renewable energy seriously, with electricity tariffs likely to go up. I believe that in terms of costing, renewable energy should now be market-competitive in terms of pricing. "We can electrify our country. We can electrify the rural communities. Edo govt promises speedy completion of Ekehuan Road dualisation project

The Edo State Government has reassured residents that the ongoing dualisation of Ekehuan Road in Benin City would be completed on schedule, charging the contractor handling the construction to expedite work on the road and ensure speedy completion of the project. Permanent Secretary, Edo State Ministry of Infrastructure, Engr. Ferguson Enabulele, gave the assurance when he led other staff of the ministry on an inspection tour to Ekehuan Road to ascertain the level at work done. The road, which leads to the site of the Benin River Port project, on completion would boost infrastructural development in the state in line with the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration’s promise to upgrade infrastructure and drive urban renewal in the state capital. Delta clarifies airport concession, approves construction of more roads

Delta State Government on Thursday said Asaba International Airport was not sold but only concessioned for 30 years to make for its adequate upgrade into a world-class airport, by the concessionaire.  The Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting of the State’s Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Asaba.  Aniagwu said that under the concession agreement, the concessionaire would inject about N30 billion into the upgrade of facilities at the airport.  According to him, the concession became necessary as the daily operation of the airport would be effectively managed by private investors. He disclosed that the process leading to the concession was transparently and objectively done in the overall interest of the state as it would impact positively on its economy.
