Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has charged the 23 newly sworn-in Council Chairmen in the State to carry everyone along in running the administration of their respective local governments.  The Governor gave the charge on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 while inaugurating the elected local government Chairmen at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi. He urged the Chairmen to imbibe the culture of operating an inclusive administration, pointing out that they must always involve all Council members, stakeholders as well as the local government legislative members in decision-making in order to succeed.  In furtherance of the concerted efforts of his administration in reviewing the policies, programmes, structures and operations of the State Public Service for optimal results, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, on Wednesday, inaugurated an 8-man Committee to coordinate the implementation of the recommendations of the 12 Sectoral Committees.  Inaugurating the Committee, Gov. The Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), Prof. Sayed Malik has denied insinuations that some pilgrims from the state who are already in Saudi Arabia have been denied their Basic Travel Allowance (BTA). Prof. Malik, who was reacting to reports being circulated via online channels, said that the reports were unfounded and far from the true situation of things at the State’s Hajj camps in Saudi Arabia. Prof Malik said: “It is not true in any way, that the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) has diverted funds meant for the payment of BTA of the first batch of pilgrims from the state, who are currently in Saudi Arabia. Decades After, Bayelsa Govt Revives Nembe-Brass Road Project

Royal Fathers, Stakeholders Laud Gov Diri There was celebration in Nembe and Brass local government areas of Bayelsa State on Thursday as the long-awaited road project linking both riverine councils was flagged off by the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, at Nembe. The project, which is one of the three senatorial roads in the state, had been on the drawing board of successive administrations in the country from the colonial era in the 1940s. The Governor Douye Diri administration, which made it one of its campaign promises to people of the area, revived the project with the first phase of 21km and 10 bridges awarded to Setraco Nigeria Limited for N54.1billion. The road when completed will open up the Brass Island, which has key national economic assets such as the Agip oil export terminal, the ongoing Brass Liquefied Natural Gas and the Brass Fertiliser and Petrochemical projects.
