Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on the people of the state to remain united in the task of moving the state forward.  The Governor spoke Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi shortly after the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titus Uba emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governorship candidate for next year's polls.  Hon. Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State on Monday emerged as the People's Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial candidate for the Taraba State Senatorial Zone for the 2023 election. Governor Ishaku who was the party's sole candidate for the zone won all the 154 out of a total of 158 votes cast. Four invalid votes were recorded. The elections which were held in the Township Stadium in Wukari, the traditional headquarters of the JUKUN race was supervised by officials of the Independent  National Electorate Commission, INEC. Speaking soon after his declaration as winner, Ishaku praised the peaceful conduct of the PDP primaries for various elective positions held throughout the state and noted that with what has happened, the party had emerged stronger from the exercise and would continue its dominance in Taraba State politics.  Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has dissolved the State Executive Council with effect from Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The Chief of Staff to the Governor and Senior Special Assistant (Protocol), have also been relieved of their offices.   “His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, commends the members the Rivers State Executive Council for their service and contribution to the development of the State. Governor Samuel Ortom has charged members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP electoral panels for the House of Assembly and that of Representatives primaries to be firm but ensure that the process is free, fair and transparent.  The Governor gave the charge while addressing members of the legislative  panels, made up of principally Government appointees at the PDP State Secretariat in Makurdi.  The primary elections into the State and House of Representatives is scheduled to hold on Sunday 22 May, 2022 across the state.  The Governor maintained that conducting a transparent, free and fair primaries would give all the aspirants a sense of belonging and galvanize the position of the party in winning the general elections.  He tasked them to work closely with security operatives to ensure that only delegates were allowed into the venue of the primaries to avoid any thing that would compromise the credibility of the process.  Earlier, the state chairman of the party Sir  John Ngbede said
