Be Attentive, Report Criminals To Security Agencies - Gov Bala Tells Duguri Residents

 Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has called on residents, stakeholders and security agencies of Duguri community of Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state to work together to ensure the security situation of the area is strengthened. Gov Ortom Backs Impeachment Move Against President Buhari

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has lauded the National Assembly  for issuing a  six-week ultimatum on  President Muhammadu Buhari to step up the fight against insecurity or risk being impeached.  The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, caucus of the Senate led by the Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda on Tuesday, July 27th, 2022 walked out of plenary to protest the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari to end insecurity in Nigeria. Senator Aduda and his colleagues later addressed the Senate Press Corps where they issued a six-week ultimatum after which they will initiate  impeachment proceedings against President Buhari if he's unable to end insecurity in the country.  The Oyo State Government has declared Monday, August 1, 2022 a work-free day to mark the new Islamic calendar, 1st Muharam (Hijrah) 1444 AH. A circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, dated July 29, 2022 and communicated to heads of the legislature, Judiciary and various Ministries, Departments and Agencies indicated this development. The circular reads: "The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde (FNSE) has declared Monday, 1st of August, 2022 as a work-free day in the State, to commemorate and celebrate the new Islamic Calendar Year of 1st Muharram (Hijrah) 1444 AH. "His Excellency, the Executive Governor has also enjoined all and sundry to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the State in particular and the country in general."

Tambuwal: SOSG Tackles Mabera Flooding, Targets Bequeathing 1,842 Homes

 After years of being inundated by perennial flooding in Mabera, a community within Sokoto metropolis, a N3 billion erosion control project jointly executed by Sokoto state government and the World Bank has been completed since March. Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state made this known on Thursday at the closing of the eleventh meeting of the National Council on Lands and Urban Development (NCLUD) held in Sokoto. “The construction of an expansive drainage network (of about 19 kilometers) at Mabera in partnership with NEWMAP, has from this year, made the perennial flooding of that expanding urban sprawl a thing of the past,” Tambuwal noted.  Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal  of Sokoto State has received into the fold of the state People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a chieftain of the state branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hon. Tambuwal: SOSG’ll Embark On Biometric Verification of All Primary School Teachers

  Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal  of Sokoto State has indicated that his administration will soon embark on the authentication of all primary school teachers in the state. Gov. Tambuwal stated this on Thursday while distributing instructional materials to the 23 Local Government education departments in the state held at the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) headquarters in Sokoto. According to him, the verification exercise is to ascertain the number of authentic teachers of the primary schools across the state. In the same stride, the State Government, he assured will also use the money saved from the exercise to recruit more teachers and pay attention to other welfare needs of the teachers. Tambuwal further maintained that the State Government is paying regular pension of primary school teachers, pledging that very soon the government will pay gratuity to those who have retired. Gov. Diri Inaugurates More Council Projects

  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has inaugurated projects executed by chairman of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Chief Kia Nigeria. The projects include the executive chairman’s office complex, a 300,000-litre water scheme, a concrete road as well as a 500-sitting capacity hall at the council’s headquarters in Oporoma town. He also inaugurated another town hall in Amassoma community. Governor Diri had on Tuesday commenced the inauguration of projects executed by councils in the state with completed projects by the chairmen of Yenagoa and Kolokuma/Opokuma local government areas.
