PDP Governors' Forum celebrates Governor Darius Ishaku @ 68.

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, (PDP-GF), under the Chairmanship of the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, celebrates with the hard - working Governor of Taraba State, H.E. Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, as he turns 68 today, July 30, 2022.

The Forum is happy to join members of your family, friends, political associates and citizens of Taraba State in expressing gratitude to God for his many blessings of good health, courage, wisdom and fortitude on you all these past years.


We are glad to note how you have systematically returned peace and conviviality to Taraba State torn in many parts by strife and clashes before your emergence as Governor. We are also glad to associate ourselves with your developmental strides in the State since 2015, when you mounted the saddle of leadership in the State.


Following your interventions, the Bali-Serti-Gembu road, very important for tourism development, a major revenue earner for Taraba State has been reconstructed. The road is the gateway to the famous Gashaka Gumti National Park, which is the largest games reserve in the whole of West Africa with its famous fauna and flora. The road also leads to Mambilla Plateau, home of the high - quality Highland Tea, also the only tea plantation in West Africa, and of course, home to the famous Chappal Wadi mountain which stands at about 2,419metres above sea level, the highest point in Nigeria.


You have also chalked up similar achievements in provision of power, thereby increasing and improving the quality of electricity supply to Jalingo, the State capital and its environs; empowerment of women and youths of the State, construction and building of new primary and secondary schools and committal of huge resources for the accreditation and expansion of facilities and academic programmes at the Taraba State University, Jalingo. 


The Forum particularly recognizes your contribution to the growth of our party in your capacity as Chairman of the very sensitive Contact and Mobilization Committee of our 2022 National Convention Organising Committee and your other contributions to the cohesion and progress of our Forum.


We pray to God Almighty to continue to bless you with more wisdom, good health of body and mind, as you continue to lead Taraba State to greater achievements.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families. Announcing the donation at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House, Little Rayfield, the First Lady said that government is concerned about their plight.  Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her deep concern for the victims, stating that the news of the deteriorating security situation in Mangu Local Government Area on May 15, 2023, had deeply saddened her.  She acknowledged the devastation and despair faced by the affected communities, with destroyed homes and disrupted sources of livelihood.
