Tambuwal Receives Sokoto Indigenes Rescued From Abductors

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has received 17 indigenes of the state rescued by the Armed Force from abductors in neighbouring Zamfara. Tambuwal, while receiving the victims from a delegation from Zamfara state Monday reiterated his administration's commitment to ensure adequate security of life and property for the people in the state. He commended the government of Zamfara state and the Armed Forces for their efforts in the rescue of the victims from kidnappers. Tambuwal expressed happiness that the victims were found in good health after they were examined by the medical personnel of Government House, Sokoto. He said Government is doing its best in ensuring the protection of lives and properties of its citizenry.   Rivers state governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says his administration is committed to making life comfortable for youths posted to the state for their compulsory one year national youth service Programmes. Governor Wike was speaking while hosting 2019 Batch-B, Stream-one youth Corps members who came to express appreciation to the governor for the privilege given to them to serve at the government house, Port Harcourt . Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Governor Wike said there is no administration comparable to the Wike administration in Nigeria that has remained exceptional in upgrading facilities at the Nonwa orientation camp in Tai local government area of the state.   He said internal roads have been rehabilitated at the orientation camp in Nonwa plus the reconstruction of auditorium and hotels for Corps members. Tambuwal: NGF Committed to Financial Autonomy of Legislature, Judiciary

The Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) is poised to make financial autonomy of the legislature and judiciary across the country possible. Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal  of Sokoto State, who is also the Vice Chairman of the NGF, made this known when he swore-in the new Grand Khadi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, Muhammad Tambari Usman, Monday, at Government House, Sokoto. According to him, in his capacity as the Chairman of the NGF's committee that was mandated to interface with stakeholders, including the Speakers Conference on the matter, the governors were unanimous that they should support the autonomy. Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has described the death of foremost Ibadan businessman and philanthropist, Chief Bode Akindele, as a great loss to Oyo State and indeed, Nigeria. Governor Makinde, who described the late Parakoyi of Ibadanland and chairman of Modandola Group, as a worthy elder statesman and someone who is genuinely interested in the wellbeing of others, said that the late businessman will be sorely missed. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says he is not nursing the ambition of running for the office of the President of Nigeria. Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, has been confirmed as the running mate of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, for the September elections.
