Delta Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa Looses Commissioner, Joyce Overah, To Cold Hands Of Death
Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, has lost one of his appointees, Hon. Joyce Overah, to the cold hands of death.
The deceased was the member representing the people of Okpe and Sapele in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Developments Commission’s Board, DESOPADEC.
The commissioner was said to have passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 9, in Sapele. He represented Sapele, Okpe and Ethiope West Local Government Areas on the DESOPADEC board.
Overah, it was gathered, collapsed moments before his swearing-in as member of the current board of DESOPADEC by Governor Okowa and was conveyed from the event through an ambulance.
The Sapele Local Government Chairman, Hon. Eugene Inoaghan, confirmed the death of the former member of the House of Representatives today, Wednesday.
He said that the death of the former lawmaker who represented Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency, is shocking to him.
According to the Council boss, Hon. Joyce Overah will be greatly missed by the People’s Democratic Party members in the State.
The commissioner died in his late 50s and was survived by six children and an aged father.
