Governor Okezie Ikpeazu today played host to the new Commissioner of Police posted to head the State Police Command, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala. The new Commissioner of Police was accompanied by the outgone Commissioner and new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Janet Agbede who was promoted and posted out of the State. Governor Ikpeazu welcomed the new CP and tasked him to build on the successes of his predecessor. The Governor assured the new Commissioner that his administration will support the new Commissioner to achieve his set objectives of securing the lives and properties of the people of Abia State. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has sworn in  Honourable Justice Lilian Abai as the Acting Chief Judge of Abia State with a charge to her to maintain the cordial relationship existing between the executive and the Judiciary in the State.  Speaking after administering the oaths of office and allegiance on the new acting Chief Judge, by the State Solicitor General, Lady Uzoamaka Ikonne at the Government House, Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu assured that his administration would do everything to support her to make the Abia Judiciary better.  The Governor commended the Judiciary for setting up and sustaining a template for succession which makes leadership transition seamless. Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has directed the Rivers State Commissioner for Health and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to sign a new agreement with PAMO University of Medical Sciences for the training of Rivers students in medicine and related fields. The United States Consul General in Nigeria, Mr. Will Stevens, has lauded the outstanding fiscal transparency of the Udom Emmanuel-led government of Akwa Ibom State. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has been told by the United States of America of its interest to consider support for the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Centre in the state. The centre is one of the critical health facilities in Rivers State, constructed by the Wike administration and is ready for inauguration in November, 2022. It was at a closed door meeting hosted by Governor Wike that the U.S consul, Mr. Will Stevens, indicated the interest of the United States Government in the hospital and the specialist health services that it will offer. The meeting held at the private residence of Governor Wike in Rumuepirikom Community in Obio Akpor Local Government Area on Tuesday night. Mr. Stevens spoke to journalists after the meeting and said they are particularly fascinated about the tremendous work Governor Wike is doing in the state for Rivers people.
