Ikpeazu Receives New Commissioner of Police For Abia State

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu today played host to the new Commissioner of Police posted to head the State Police Command, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala. The new Commissioner of Police was accompanied by the outgone Commissioner and new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Janet Agbede who was promoted and posted out of the State. Governor Ikpeazu welcomed the new CP and tasked him to build on the successes of his predecessor. The Governor assured the new Commissioner that his administration will support the new Commissioner to achieve his set objectives of securing the lives and properties of the people of Abia State. The United States Consul General in Nigeria, Mr. Will Stevens, has lauded the outstanding fiscal transparency of the Udom Emmanuel-led government of Akwa Ibom State. Mr. Will Stevens gave the commendation while speaking at Government House, Uyo, on Thursday, during a courtesy visit to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. UDOM Emmanuel. The US envoy said his government was impressed with the performance of the Akwa Ibom State Government under the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel in the areas of health, public accountability and fiscal transparency.  "Akwa Ibom State is one of the first partners in Africa that has improved on fiscal transparency. The state leads all other states in Nigeria in creating its public finance plan."  “We are particularly proud of this and hope that your government is also very proud of it," Consul General Will Stevens affirmed.  Governor Samuel Ortom has expressed satisfaction at the rehabilitation work going on at the Wards and Theatre blocks of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH. The Governor also said he was happy that the construction work at the multi-billion naira Benue Geographic Information Service, BENGIS complex is going according to plan. He spoke Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 after he took time to inspect ongoing rehabilitation work at the University Teaching Hospital and the construction of the multi-billion naira BENGIS complex. The Governor explained that the State Government had accessed a 2 billion Naira loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria to upgrade medical facilities in the state.  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has expressed appreciation to those that have supported the state as it grapples with the raging floods. Governor Diri, who spoke on Wednesday during the weekly state executive council meeting in Government House, Yenagoa, said the support received so far has helped the state in its recovery process. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah, quoted the governor as assuring that funds and items  received will be published in line with the transparent posture of his administration. U.S Considers Support For Rivers Cancer Hospital

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has been told by the United States of America of its interest to consider support for the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Centre in the state. The centre is one of the critical health facilities in Rivers State, constructed by the Wike administration and is ready for inauguration in November, 2022.
