Gov. Fintiri Flags off Bole/Lakare Road Yola South

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday urged people of Yola South, irrespective of political party, to join hands and support him and the former Nigeria's Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to chart the course of good governance for the masses in the state and country at large.

The Governor made the call at Bole Community in Yola South when he flagged off construction of 3.6km road in the area as part of his promises to the community few months ago when he went for an on-the-spot visit to see the deplorable condition of the road.


He revealed that the flag-off is in fulfilment of his campaign promise and that he will continue to do till his last tenure as Governor of the state.


He urged people in the area to trust his administration as he keeps working to improve the standard of the state across all sectors.


He said that the Adamawa project should not be reduced to party affairs but should be taken as a burden to change the ugly narratives that hitherto portrayed the state in bad light among its counterparts across the country.


He maintained that the recent Infrastructure Award presented to him by the Federal Government is a testament that with him as leader of the state, the people are in safe hands and can be assured of quality leadership.


He called on the people, irrespective of political interest, to rally round his reelection as Governor and the former VP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as President in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy in the state.


The Governor has directed that the project should be completed in six months time as against the 12 months initially planned by the contractor.


He appealed to the masses to be patient as the government under his watch will do everything possible to ensure even distribution of projects in areas that are not yet reached with projects before the expiration of his tenure as he promised.


In his speech, the State Commissioner of Works and Energy, Hon. Adamu Atiku, affirmed that since his assumption into office as Governor, Fintiri has remained true to his promises to the people.


According to the Commissioner, the 3.6km Bole road construction is very important to the state especially Yola South and most importantly the benefiting community who over fifty years were left to suffer plying the road in its deplorable condition


He revealed that respite has come through for the community as the Governor approved the construction of the road to ease movement of commuters and address cases of flooding affecting the  community yearly.


He said that the Governor has shown leadership capacity that cuts across all sectors and zones of the state and deserves to be reelected for him to continue with the good works.


He assured that the project will be monitored strictly to ensure it is done according to specifications as contained in the contractual agreement.


In his goodwill message, the District Head of Yola South, Alhaji Mohammad Ahmad Mustafa, expressed gratitude for the Government intervention in the community who were left to their fate under the deplorable road condition for over fifty years until now.


He maintained that with the flagging off of the road, the people are happy. He urged them to get their PVCs ready to reciprocate the Governor's efforts by voting him come 2023.
