March Salary is to Be Paid alongside Promotion Arrears - Osun Government

 The Government of Osun State has attributed delay in the payment of March salary to ongoing computation of promotion arrears of civil servants promoted without pay in the last four years. According to a statement issued on Friday, "the compilation of what is due to each promoted officer is followed with due diligence to ensure that there is no error in the eventual payment." "Governor Ademola Adeleke  has directed that  compilation, analysis and computation of the promotion arrears should be completed and paid to the affected civil servants. That payment His Excellency insisted must be made alongside the March salary." "Osun State Government therefore wishes to reassure Osun workers that the payment  of March salary is accompanied with payment of promotion arrears, hence the few days delay." Obogoro Community Erosion Control Project Not Abandoned

 Bayelsa State Government has assured that the erosion control project in Obogoro community in Yenagoa Local Government Area has not been abandoned. The government said some reports about the state of work on the project were incorrect and grossly inaccurate. Governor Douye Diri, who gave the clarification in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, said, on the contrary, the project was on course and that the government was committed to finding a lasting solution to the erosion menace. While empathisng with the community over the negative effects of the coastal erosion, including the loss of lives, land, property and sources of livelihood, Governor Diri urged the community to keep faith with the government to rescue the situation.  Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has berated the administration of ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola over failed technological innovations in schools. Aregbesola’s government introduced and distributed tech gadgets, including Opon Imo (I-pad) computer to aid learning and teaching in schools. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has withdrawn his petition at the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal he filed over his loss of the Benue North-West Senatorial seat.
