Obaseki Immortalizes Late Sen. Franca Afegbua, Names Longest Road in Okpella after Nigeria's First-Elected Female Senator

 The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has immortalized the late Senator Franca Afegbua, Nigeria’s first elected female Senator, naming the Ogiriga-Afokpella-Okugbe Road after the Senator who represented Bendel North Senatorial District of Old Bendel State. The Ogiriga-Afokpella-Okugbe Road, which is 14km long, is the longest road in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.  Obaseki, at the service of songs held in honour of late Sen. Afegbua in Benin City, celebrated the life and legacies of the late Senator, describing her as an Amazon and a worthy ambassador of the State. Gov Diri Expresses Satisfaction With Nembe-Brass Road Project

 Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has said he was impressed with the pace of construction on the ongoing 21km  Nembe-Brass road project. Speaking in Nembe during a project inspection visit, Governor Diri said after he visited last month and complained about the extent of work compared to the N16 billion mobilisation already paid, the contractor had improved and can now justify the funds government committed to the project. His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, in a statement on Saturday, quoted the Governor as saying  that given the huge cost of executing the project, the State Government was open to partnership with the Federal Government and oil companies but insisted that his administration will do all within its power to ensure the project was completed with or without collaboration. He re-assured the people of Bayelsa East that his administration will not play politics with the project or any developmental project, stressing that the government was desirous

Governor Adeleke Approves Payment of Another Batch of Half Salary Debt

 In line with his pledge to pay up salary debt in the state public service, Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the payment of another batch of half salary debt alongside the state workers' July salary . The fresh payment makes it the third time the Governor will pay the half salary debt in line with the template issued early this year to pay the debt on a quarterly basis. The administration has paid that of the first and second quarters while workers will receive the third quarter payment alongside their July salary. Governor Adeleke had during the electioneering campaign promised  to pay the salary debt on installment basis. The administration had inherited about 26 billion Naira in half salary debt and about 50 billion Naira in pension related debt from the previous government. Gov. Diri visits Nembe-Brass road again

Governor Douye Diri today again paid an unscheduled visit to the ongoing Nembe-Brass road. The Governor who was impressed with the level of work done, as the sand filling is just inches away from the main road, equally charged the contractor to put in more effort and speed, in other to complete the road in record time. The contractor confirmed that almost 4 kilometre stretch has been sand filled with seven dredgers working at various points on the road.  Also, His Excellency used the opportunity to visit the Science and Technical College at Opume in Ogbia LGA and the ongoing 2nd lane of the Opolo/AIT road dualisation.

Gov Fintiri Visits Bauchi To Mitigate the Case Of Dr Abdul'aziz

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has visited Bauchi to mitigate a case between the Government and Dr. Idris Abdul'aziz. The Governor alongside prominent Islamic Scholars meet Bauchi State Governor in that regard. They added their voice to the need to bring an end to the lingering litigation against Dr. Imam Idris Abdul'aziz Dutsen Tanshi. Those on the entourage of Governor Fintiri include Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, Sheikh Kabiru Gombe, and Sheikh Abdulwahab Kano. They held a closed-door meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed in Government House, Bauchi.  Governor Ahmadu Fintiri said they were at the Government House to discuss and find a lasting solution to the lingering case against the Islamic scholar.
