Oborevwori Orders Intervention In Erosion-Ridden Umeh Road

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has directed the State Ministry of Works to study and urgently effect repair works on the erosion- plagued Umeh Road in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

The 7.1km Umeh Road and bridge being threatened by erosion was built and inaugurated by the Emmanuel Uduaghan administration in 2015 to link the community to the East-West Road and by extension, other parts of the state.

Oborevwori’s intervention was sequel to appeals by the Community, the Isoko Development Union, IDU and a prominent son of the community, Chief Duncan Afahokor.

They urged the Governor to act swiftly in order to rescue the community from being cut off from the rest of the world.

Governor Oborevwori on receipt of the appeals promptly directed the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Fred Edafiaghor to study the situation with a view to proffering immediate solution.

The Permanent Secretary yesterday sent Engineers to the site and appropriate steps are being taken to remedy the situation.
