Bayelsa, Sterling Bank, Two Other Firms Sign $5m MoU On Innovative Medical Supplies

 ...Project Trailblazing, Says WHO Bayelsa State government has signed an agreement with a consortium comprising Sterling Bank, Zipline, Health Spaces and DrugStoc for the Bayelsa Health Supply Chain Transformation Project (BHSCTP). The project, estimated at $5million to be provided by the firms, is expected to provide a 21st century supply system and other supply chains using drone technology in the distribution of cost- effective pharmaceuticals in the state.  Speaking during the MoU signing in Yenagoa, Governor Douye Diri charged the stakeholders in the project to ensure that it comes on stream to boost distribution of pharmaceuticals, particularly in remote communities in the state. He identified access to healthcare as a major challenge and urged the consortium to deploy the technology to create access for residents in far-flung communities. Gov. Ugwuanyi reiterates continuous support for security agencies for effective discharge of duties

  …As Nigerian Army commends his commitment Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has reiterated that his administration will continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the state to ensure that they effectively discharge their duties.  Gov. Ugwuanyi gave the assurance during the 82 Division Nigerian Army West African Social Activities (WASA) 2021, held yesterday at the 82 Division Garrison Parade Ground, Abakpa Cantonment, Enugu. The Governor expressed delight at noting that the annual event was a platform for officers, soldiers, their families, friends and the host community to gather in a joyous and relaxed mood to appreciate God for the successful completion of training activities and operations for the past year while heralding the beginning of the new year.  Gov. Ugwuanyi said that the occasion offered him the opportunity to celebrate the Nigerian soldiers for their gallantry in battling insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in the past year.

Jubilation As Cars Enter Southern Ijaw Community For The First Time No fewer than 20 road, educational, health, media and agricultural projects will be inaugurated during the second anniversary in office of the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on February 14. The projects include those inherited from the past administration and completed in the last one year and others initiated by the Governor Diri government during same period. The anniversary activities will commence a week before February 14 and will continue till the end of the month due to the number of projects lined up for inauguration. Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has again reluctantly deferred the declaration of his aspiration for the presidency in the 2023 polls to the month of February 2022 under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Senator Bala Mohammed told his 24-wisemen Presidency Contact Committee that he still has 30% consultation to declare whether or not he would run for the nation’s plum job come 2023 general elections. Bala, who Friday gauged the contact committee report presented to him to 70% contacts, said there are still inner leaders of the country whom he needs to consult for the Aso Rock Villa seat. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has flagged off the distribution of medical equipment from PROJECT CURE, under the auspices of the Abia State Diaspora Commission to select Hospitals and Primary Healthcare Centres across the various LGAs of the State. Auchi-Jattu Road Wears New Look As Obaseki Extends Light-up Edo Project To Edo North

Residents of Jattu, Auchi and neighboring towns have applauded Governor Godwin Obaseki for the Light-up Edo Project (Phase I) as the towns are now wearing a new look following the installation of 283 solar street lights at strategic locations on the major roads linking the towns in the northern part of Edo State. According to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Electricity, Edo State, Stephen Uyiekpen, “the light-up Edo project is part of Governor Obaseki’s Making Edo Great Again manifesto to transform the state into the preferred business destination in Nigeria, improve security and raise the standards of living of residents.” He explained that “the solar street light project covers the ever-busy Auchi-Jattu road and the Jattu-Otaru Polytechnic Road”.  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has said despite protest from some quarters, the removal of the paramount  ruler of Otuokpoti community in Ogbia Local Government Area, Chief Cousin Wongo, is irrevocable. Governor Diri, on Monday, announced the monarch's dethronement as well as the removal of the community development committee chairman and its youth president as a result of their complicity in the kidnap of the Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Mr. Federal Otokito, from his residence in the community. Mr. Otokito, however, regained his freedom on Monday after his abductors inflicted severe injuries on him.
