Governor Fintiri Launches 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Insignia

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Friday 7th January, 2022, launched the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Insignia with the sum of Fifteen Million Naira (N15,000,000).

The Governor donated on behalf of the State Government in the Council Chamber, Government House, Yola and recapitulated the government’s commitment to give priority to peace and unity in the state.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri commended the security agencies for their tenacity in ensuring the peace and safety of the people in the State and promised more commitment to peace and security of his people as consecrated in his 11 Point Agenda.

Fintiri assured them of his administration’s determination to maintain the support until all Adamawa people are safe to do their businesses without any security difficulties or obstacles.

The Head of Service, Dr. Edgar Amos, said the insignia appeal draws the attention of people to the sacrifices made by fallen heroes in ensuring the safety of the country.

He reaffirmed that security and peace is everyone's business and was the right time to honour the fallen heroes, either with words or financial donations to support their families, so that it reduces their hardship and suffering, and also serve as an encouragement to the serving ones.

The State Chairman of the Legion, Master Warrant Officer Ali Muhammad (Rtd), stated that the fallen heroes have contributed immensely to the stabilization of peace in Nigeria and beyond, consequently he said, there is a need for individuals, private sectors, and organizations to support their families.

The Chairman thanked the State Government and individuals that made free-will donations in support, further appealing to others to follow suit to enable them tackle the difficulties faced by widows, orphans, and injured survivors among them.

Donations were made by the State Chief Judge on behalf of the judiciary with the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000.00), the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) made a personal donation of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000.00), and the Head of Service on behalf of Permanent Secretaries the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000.00).

The Commissioner's Forum donated the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00), Service Commanders donated the sum of Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N550,000.00), Head of Local Government Service donated the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00), Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals donated the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000.00), among others.
