Gov. Ugwuanyi mourns Col. Anthony Obi

...Visits deceased family  

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has mourned the death of the former Military Governor of Osun and Abia States, Colonel Anthony Uzoma Obi (Rtd.).

Col. Obi, an indigene of Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, according to the statement released by his family, died on Saturday, January 1, 2022. 



Gov. Ugwuanyi, accompanied by the Member representing Nkanu West/Nkanu East Federal Constituency, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, visited members of the deceased family at their Enugu residence to condole with them, Monday. 

The Governor described late Col. Obi as an illustrious son of Enugu State who distinguished himself creditably in his career as a brave top military officer.  

Gov. Ugwuanyi acknowledged Col. Obi's selfless service and immeasurable contributions to nation building especially his legacies in Osun and Abia States where he served meritoriously as military governor. 


The Governor prayed for the repose of Col. Obi's gentle soul and informed his family that the Government of Enugu State will fully participate in every aspect of his burial.
