Bauchi Govt. to Assist In Finding Lasting Solution to Gender-Based Violence

  
Bauchi state government has declared total commitment to support initiatives geared towards bringing to an end, the current high rate of rape and gender-based violence against women and girls child in the society.
 
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Honorable Garba Dahiru gave the assurance when he recieved in audience, officials of the State office of the National Human Rights who paid him an advocacy visit in his office.
 
Honorable Garba Dahiru assured that, his Ministry will partner with critical stakeholders notably the, police, court, traditional and religious leaders in an efforts to mitigate further spread of violence against women.
According to him, despite cases of rape and gender based violence is alarming in the society, there is need for collective efforts to tackle and overcome the situation.
" I welcome you to my office, our ministry is always ready to partner and seek partnership with stakeholders especially in Information dissemination.
 
" Government is unhappy at the rate of rape, sexual an gender based violence against women in our society, but despite we are confident that working together we can tackle the ugly act."
The Information and Communications Commissioner used the medium to acknowledge the commitment of the commission in tackling abuse of human rights in the country.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of the Commission, Mrs Yahcit Suzan Dala appealed to the ministry to join hands with the commission in the campaign against human rights abuse.
