Adamawa Govt. Proposes 163 Billion 2022 Budget Estimates Tagged Budget of Sustainable Hope

The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a budget estimate for 2022 totaling over N163 billion naira, which will be presented to the state Assembly.

Tagged budget of sustainable hope 98.8 billion, which represents 60% goes to recurrent expenditure while 64.7 billion, representing 40% is allocated to capital expenditure.


Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri presided over the state council's 10th meeting for the year 2021, which was held at the Council Chamber of Government House Yola.

Briefing newsmen Commissioner of Agriculture Umar Daware stated shortly after the meeting that the council examined the budget proposal estimate for the fiscal year 2022 comprehensively.

Governor Fintiri will provide the state legislature with the budget envelope on Thursday, he said.

While breaking down the budget, Commissioner of Finance and Budget Dr Ishaya John Dabari highlighted that the current administration prioritises youth empowerment, as seen by the allocation of 60% of the budget to recurrent expenditure to accomplish its purpose.


Dr Ishaya Dabari also noted that capital investment will account for 40% of the budget, or N64.7 billion naira, to expand opportunities for development across the state.

While guaranteeing that severe measures have been taken to assure the budget's realisation, the finance commissioner expressed optimism that the economic crisis caused by Covid 19 will be overcome, allowing for greater developments.
