Provision of Infrastructure will Improve Economy, Create Jobs -- Abubakar

Former Vice President President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has called on government at all levels to prioritize provision of physical infrastructure to enhance job creation and economic empowerment.

He made the call in Bauchi while commissioning Gombe Road to Maiduguri Bye pass in the state capital constructed by the Governor Bala Mohammed - led administration.

Commissioning the four point five killometres road, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said the country needs extra commitments in eradicating the wave of unemployment and insecurity noting that embarking on massive infrastructural development project is the instrument for achieving economic prosperity.

While commending the Governor for constructing the road, Atiku Abubakar urged him to consolidate on his zeal towards impacting positively on the lives of the people.

The State Governor, Bala Mohammed, said the project was in-line with the urban and rural renewal projects initiated by his administration.

According to him, over thirty strategic roads were so far completed in addition to provision of basic infrastructure in critical areas.

In an address, the State Commissioner of Works, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim, said the ministry intensified monitoring and evaluation to ensure the project meets the construct specification.

The former Vice President had earlier paid a homage to the Emir of Bauchi at his palace.
