Your Activities Helped Saved The world: Gov Fintiri Tells UN Scribe

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, says the activities of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria’s North East region saved the world from what would’ve been the worst humanitarian crises in history.

The Governor gave the commendation when he hosted the Resident Ambassador and his team members at the Government House for a farewell dinner.

“For us in the Northeast particularly in Adamawa State, your five-year stay in Nigeria has added speed to our recovery process even in the face of the crises which is still on” he stated.

He commended the United Nations Resident Ambassador and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Edward Kallon, for his humanitarian work in Nigeria, the Northeast and Adamawa in particular.

Governor Fintiri also said “You demonstrated professionalism and commitment to duty, you gave us hope and supported us in our hour of need.”

While bidding him farewell as he moves to Zimbabwe, he wished him all the best in his future endeavours.

In his response, the Resident Ambassador and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, who is also the UNDP representative Mr. Edward Kallon, appreciated the Governor for organizing a farewell dinner in his honour.

He expressed his delight with the cordial working relationship between the Adamawa State Government and his team.

He attributed the success of UNDP in the state to the support from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the people and government of the state.
