Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has felicitated with Muslims in the state on the end of their Ramadan fast and the celebration of the Eid-el-Fitri. Governor Diri in his goodwill message issued by his Acting Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, urged Muslims in the state to continue to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria and Bayelsa. He also solicited their continuous prayers for the COVID-19 pandemic to be defeated. Governors of Benue and Nasarawa States have agreed to intensify efforts for the demarcation of the boundary between the two states to curtail incessant border crises. Governor Samuel Ortom and his Nasarawa State counterpart, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, took the decision today during a joint peace and security meeting held at LGEA Primary School Yelewata, Benue State. In a communique jointly signed by the two governors, the two states also agreed to constitute joint security committees at the Local Government Areas of Guma in Benue, Obi, Keana, Awe and Doma in Nasarawa, to checkmate criminal elements in the border communities. According to the Communique which was read by Governor Samuel Ortom, the Deputy Governors of the two states are to hasten the process of boundary demarcation in order to address the lingering crisis involving ethnic groups such as Alago, Fulani and Tiv. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has described  the sudden death of the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Solomon Ogunji, as a deeply profound personal loss. Describing the late Commissioner as "my best friend", an emotionally distraught Governor Ikpeazu said that his friendship with the Late Dr. Ogunji has remained since his 13th birthday and ever since then, no one else has come closer to him in terms of personal relationships. Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, has put to rest the speculations of rift between him and Governor of the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde. Olaniyan, who described the relations between him and his boss as cordial, said that he has chosen to disregard all those who want to cause disaffection and rancor between them. The Deputy Governor spoke during a chat with journalists in the state, who were at his residence to celebrate Sallah with him.
