The reign of Felix Anyansi-Agwu as Chairman of Enyimba has ended following the dissolution of the club’s board by the Abia State Government, reports Completesports.com.

Abia Warriors chairman, Emeka Inyama, was also relieved of his duties. The boards of 30 other Abia State owned organisations were also affected by the massive shake-up.
Anyansi-Agwu was named Enyimba chairman in 1999 and the club enjoyed their most successful spell during his reign.

During his time as Enyimba chairman, the People’s Elephant won seven Nigeria Professional Football League titles and four Federation Cup titles.

The Aba-based club also won the CAF Champions League twice and the African Super Cup trophy on two occasions under Anyansi-Agwu’s reign.

Inyama was named the Chairman of Abia Warriors in 2012 after its name changed from Orji UzorKalu FC.
In a press release, the governor thanked the respective boards for their services to the state, and directed the affected members to hand over all government documents and properties to the relevant offices.

“The Governor (Dr Okezie Ikpeazu) expresses his appreciation to members of the boards for their service to the state and directs that all government properties in their possession be handed over to the relevant offices,” the statement read.

Besides Enyimba and Abia Warriors boards, others affected in the shakeup include Abia State Water Board, Abia State Transport Corporation, Umuahia Capital Development Authority, Abia State Housing Corporation, Abia State Library Board, Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, among others.
