Governor Fintiri attends the Valedictory Session in Honor of Nathan, the Retiring Chief Judge.

On Friday, September 2nd, 2022, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri attended the valedictory session honouring Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Nathan Musa, as outgoing Chief Judge at the High Court Complex in Yola.


Governor Fintiri praised the retiring State Chief Judge, Justice Nathan Musa, who has been a pillar in the state and has introduced far-reaching reforms in the state’s Justice sector.

He described Justice Musa as a person with a deep understanding of legal principles who always respected people’s opinions and engaged in constructive engagement with his spirit of interpersonal disposition.


The Governor expressed his gratitude to the retiring Chief Judge for his tremendous and meritorious service to the state and humanity and wished him success and prosperity in his future endeavors.

In his remarks, retiring Chief Judge, Justice Nathan Musa,  reminisced about his life and career accomplishment and applauded Governor Fintiri for establishing a committee to oversee the disbursement of funds to the three arms of government.


He thanked the government, the judiciary’s management, and staff, as well as his family, for their support throughout his tenure and he urged the people to work together to end the country’s security challenges.

Honourable Justice Hafsat Abdurrahman, the state’s most senior judicial officer, also spoke, saying the Judiciary and the nation owed the retiring Chief Judge a debt of gratitude for his selfless service to humanity.


Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, represented by Galadima Adamawa, Alhaji Mustafa Aminu, announced the conferment of the title of Wakilin Alkalan Adamawa on Justice Nathan Musa for his immense contribution to the state’s robust judiciary.

Speaking on behalf of the body of benchers, former State Chief Judge, Justice Bemare Bansi, OFR, described the retiring number one judicial officer in Adamawa as a hardworking and loyal officer and wished him a peaceful retirement.


Justice Musa, who was appointed substantive Chief Judge in December 2021, will officially retire on September 6, 2022, at the age of 65, as stipulated by constitutional provisions.


At the event, the retiring Chief Judge, Justice Musa, presented some documents to Governor Umaru Fintiri, including Practice Directions for Custodial and Non-custodial Sentencing Guidelines, as well as Practice Directions for Dealing with Offenders.


Others were the Adamawa State Violence Against Provision Law 2021 and the Framework for Monitoring and Evaluating the Implementation of the Adamawa State Administration Criminal Justice Law 2018.

The Government, as well as the celebrant’s friends, and close associates, attended the ceremony.

Governor Mutfwang Receives Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Generous Donation Of 500 Million Naira To Plateau Crisis Victims

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to families affected by violent attacks in Plateau States.  The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with One Million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.
