Tambuwal: Atiku, PDP’ll End Insecurity Stalling Gold Mining in Sokoto
If voted into office in a couple of weeks, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the party will work conscientiously to address the insecurity in many parts of the country, so as to fast track its economic development.
This would make it possible for Sokoto state, which has many solid minerals in commercial quantity to venture into their extraction for the good of its people.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state made these assertions on Wednesday at Kebbe town of Kebbe local government area during the ongoing statewide campaign by the PDP.
Tambuwal, who said the exploration of gold found in the local government area has been hampered by the preponderance of banditry, kidnappings and other sundry criminalities, however, expressed confidence that if the PDP clinches the presidency, it’ll roll back the ugly trend and pave way for the smooth extraction of the precious metal.
“I want to assure you that if not for the challenges of insecurity, gold extraction would have since commenced in this local government area.
“Sokoto Investment Company is in possession of the requisite licenses that authorizes it to unearth mineral resources found in parts of the state, including gold.
“I, therefore, urge you to vote for Atiku Abubakar. God willing, he would restore peace and all the mineral resources here in Kebbe would be dug up,” the Governor assured.
