Gov Dickson Mourns APC Chieftain and Former NDDC Director, Pastor Aginighan

Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson has commiserated with the Ijaw Nation, the government and good people of Delta State over the demise of a foremost Ijaw leader, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Acting Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Pastor Power Ziakede Aginighan famously known as PZ or Odudu. He passed on Saturday after a motor accident at 59 years!

The Governor in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Francis Ottah Agbo said Aginighan was a staunch politician and community leader, who fought for Ijaw cause within the frontiers of national interest.

While praying God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss, the Governor also prayed God to grant the soul of Odudu eternal repose.

The statement reads: "On behalf of my family, the Government and good people of Bayelsa State,  I commiserate with the family of PZ, the Ijaw people,  the government and good people of Delta State over the untimely death of my brother, friend and compatriot in the Ijaw struggle, Pastor Power Ziakede Aginighan.

"His passing came as a shock to me. We cannot question God, sad as his demise is. All we can do as mortals on this divide is to pray God to grant his soul eternal repose as well as grant his immediate family the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss."

Aginighan was appointed NDDC's Executive Director, Finance and administration by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2007. He was a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State before he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
