Flood: 9,000 families get N40m relief materials in Sokoto LG

Over 9,000 families displaced by flood in Silame Local Government Area of Sokoto State are to receive N40 million worth relief materials to cushion the effect of the devastation. The State Government provided  the relief items which included rice, maize, millet, guinea corn and clothing materials.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal presented the materials to the district head of Katami as well as representatives of the district head of Silame and Gande.

The Governor assured that his government would provide more relief materials to the flood victims in view of the severity of the situation. He however warned people of the State to avoid building structures on waterways and dumping refuse in drainages.

The district head of Katami, Alhaji Usman Garba Katami, appealed for the  construction of the three kilometre road that linked the area to Kebbi  State.
