Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state led a high powered delegation to confer with the former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state
The closed door meeting, which lasted for more than two hours, was held at the precinct of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in the Ogun state capital.
It was also attended by the Director General of Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization (APCO), Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state, former Governors of Cross River, Osun and Jigawa states: Sen. Liyel Imoke, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Alhaji Sule Lamido, respectively.At the close of the private audience, Governor Tambuwal told journalists that the deliberations yielded positive result. “ We had a very fruitful conversation with him,” Tambuwal said.
“We’re in a build up and we will continue to do what we have to do,” the Governor added.
On the forthcoming general elections, he urged Nigerians to endeavor to exercise their civic duties for the betterment of the country.
“My message to Nigerians is that we should come out en masse in February, particularly February 25, to vote for a balanced ticket that reflects the characteristics of this country, that will provide the leadership that will stabilize it, revive our economy and foster more of national unity,” he said.
