Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has raised the alarm about a plot to breach the peace of the state. Governor Diri, who warned that the state government would not condone any act that would disrupt the peace of the state, advised security commanders, youths, elders and traditional rulers to be on the alert. The Bayelsa governor spoke on the issue on Thursday at separate meetings with the Bayelsa Elders Council and at the 37th session of the State Security Council. He warned that a planned mega rally and inauguration of a group loyal to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, was capable of igniting avoidable crisis in the state.  Diri noted that a suspended member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), George Turnah, had been enlisted to create factions in the party in the state. The Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas on Wednesday hosted the Arch Bishop of Abuja, Most Rev Ignatius Kaigama and the Catholic Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, Most Rev Charles Hamawa and that of Wukari Diocese, Most Rev Mark Nzukwen at the TY Danjuma House Jalingo. Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday, received the immediate past chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas in the State at his private residence in Port Harcourt. The former chairmen were on a Solidarity Visit to show unwavering support and commitment to the course of the Rivers First mantra under the sterling leadership of Governor Fubara. Urges Tinubu, NASS To Set Up Reconciliation Committee Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has again appealed to President Bola Tinubu to reconsider his declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State  and instead set up a committee to reconcile the different parties to the dispute in the state. Governor Diri, who contended that the Rivers crisis can be resolved through dialogue, also empasised that the Ijaw ethnic nationality was not in conflict with the President or the Federal Government of Nigeria. Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has approved the promotion and conversion of  2,061 civil servants, who participated in the 2024 promotion and conversation exercises in the state.  This was even as elated civil servants in the state  expressed delight at the prioritisation of their welfare by the Mbah Administration through the prompt payments of salaries and emoluments, improved working environment and capacity. The development was disclosed by the Chairman of Enugu State Civil Service Commission (ESCSC), Mr. Robison Odo, on Monday. “The Executive Governor of the state recently gave his approval for the release of the promotion and conversion exercises of 2,061 officers who successfully partook in the 2024 promotion interviews.  “The promotion and conversion exercises affected officers from grade level 01 to grade level 17.  The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has announced that the state will host an international investors summit in May 2025, aimed at attracting investors and development partners. The Governor made this announcement on Monday, 24th March 2025, during a courtesy visit from the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and West Africa at the Exco Chamber, TY Danjuma House, in Jalingo.  During the meeting, Dr. Kefas explained that significant efforts have been made to make the state more appealing to investors.  He emphasized that the investors' summit will provide an opportunity to showcase Taraba State’s potential to a global audience.
