By Pat PA Okon
The Bayelsa State Ministry of Information and Orientation has joined in condoling with Governor Henry Seriake Dickson over the death of his beloved mother.
The Commissioner for Information, Daniel Iworiso-Markson in a statement issued on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Directors and staff said her death came at a time her motherly love and wise counsel is mostly needed.
According to him, the late Mrs. Gold Coast Dickson (Mama GOGO) as she was fondly called by all who knew her, including Gov. Dickson was an outstanding personality who touched so many lives with her philanthropy.
Iworiso-Markson noted that the deceased who died of cancer will be remembered in so many positive ways and also prayed God to comfort those she left behind.
The Commissioner thanked experts at the Bayelsa Diagnostic Centre who were the first to detect the cancer during one of her routine medical check up there.
He said though she lost the battle with cancer, it was very instructive that it was detected for immediate treatment, which explains the quality of facilities and personnel at the Bayelsa Diagnostic Centre.
Iworiso-Markson called on all those who wish to register their condolences to take advantage of the opened condolence register at the Government House Yenagoa and the country home of Gov. Dickson as well as the Bayelsa Liason office and the Governor's lodge Abuja to feel free and do so.
