There was wild jubilation by his staff as the Akwa Ibom State Government Tuesday  with immediate effect sacked the Commissioner, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai from the state Executive Council.

This was contained in a release signed by the Secretary to the State Government; Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem and made available to the media in Uyo.

According to the release Rt. Hon Antai had to be removed from the State Executive Council following his reluctance to comply with good governance processes of government.

With the development Rt. Hon. Victor Antai has been mandated to handover to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry before close of work Wednesday, 8th August; 2018.

Tangible reasons behind the jubilation could not be ascertained, but scoops here and there say it has to do with the  dictatorial tendencies displayed by the sacked commissioner towards his staff.

Meanwhile, another dimension has it that Antai was yesterday locked out of the 5-star hotel that he has been staying in for sometime now.

Details of the lock-out are still sketchy, but sources say it might not be unconnected with unpaid bills running into millions of naira.
