Farmers-Herders Clash: Governor Fintiri Receive Some Victims

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday received some victims of farmers herders conflict in the conference Hall Government House Yola.

The victims were from Bolki ward of Numan local government area of Adamawa state.

They were in the Government House Yola to seek for Governor Fintiri's assistance following attacks by herdsmen in the area.

Governor Umaru Fintiri commiserated with them over the incessant conflict to curb the menace and restore peace in the area.

He assured the women that his administration will continue to entrench peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders.

The leader of the delegation, Mrs Safiya Peter said they were in the Government House Yola to seek assistance from the Governor following attacks by herders.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
